Next-Gen Models
At SUBARU, I was involved in design proposals for next-generation production vehicles. While staying true to SUBARU’s brand philosophy, I explored new styling possibilities and aimed to create designs from the user’s perspective.
①Next-generation CROSS TREK
I worked on exterior styling proposals for the next-generation CROSS TREK. This project focused on evolving SUBARU’s design philosophy, DYNAMIC x SOLID, to the next level. The goal was to combine a “solid, reassuring presence” with a “dynamic sense of excitement” to create a more innovative and bold design.
Using SIMPLE and BOLD as key concepts, I aimed to develop styling with a stronger stance and a more commanding presence. The design incorporated bold elements while ensuring it remained approachable for everyday use, striking a balance between adventurous spirit and practicality.

②Next-generation FORESTER
I also contributed to the exterior styling proposals for the next-generation FORESTER. In this project, I collaborated with the product planning team to explore the direction of the vehicle’s concept and identity. I utilized the "FIELD" concept defined by SUBARU’s Advanced Research Design (ARD) project to propose designs that deeply resonate with users.
For instance, I suggested adjusting the tumble angle (side window inclination) to enhance the vehicle’s stance. Additionally, I proposed improving the opening mechanism of the rear gate to ensure ease of use, focusing on practicality and convenience for daily life. The goal was to create a design that is not only visually appealing but also user-friendly and trustworthy.
In both projects, I stayed grounded in SUBARU’s brand philosophy while adding new value through innovative design proposals. I pursued bold and refined styling while incorporating functionality and ease of use, emphasizing SUBARU’s core values of safety and enjoyment in a tangible way.
These experiences allowed me to contribute to the future of SUBARU’s design development, which was incredibly meaningful for me and became a foundational part of my career as a designer.
